John's residence at the time of marriage was Dungooley and his father is given as George Coburn. Sponsors were John Quinn? (hard to make out the writing) and Ann Devlin. Alice's father was Michael Lamb and she was previously married to a Gib or Gill. Michael Lamb died 3/4/1872 aged 79 and John died in 20/4/1872 aged 69 (you can never trust ages given at death). Anne Lamb was present at both deaths and informed the authorities. In the register the entries are right next to each other. If John was born in 1803 it would possibly make him one of the original family.

Tombstone Inscriptions in Castletown Graveyard, Dundalk
Erected by George Coburn of Dungooly in memory of his daughter Ann who departed this life the 11th of August 1833 aged 22 years. Also two of his grandchildren died young. RIP
Erected by John Coburn of Drumcashell in memory of his son George Coburn who departed this life 7th September 1839 aged 26 years.
This would make George born in 1813 and his father John born at least 20 years before that. I wonder if John is the one above who married Alice Lamb.
Erected by Cherie Coburn in memory of her beloved husband John Coburn who departed this life at Newry January 24th 1870 aged 27 years.
I don't think these are anything to do with us. She was previously Cherrie Crawford. They had a son Michael who was born in Newry 29/8/1867. Why John was buried in Dundalk is a mystery.
